Chai Candied Almonds

Alright my friends, this is an oldie but a goodie! I’m pulling it from my old blog, giving it a bit of an update and dropping it here for you! This recipe is my GO TO for event favors, teacher gifts, dessert toppings and cheese board garnishes. You can not go wrong here! Plus, I’m attaching my Fall and Christmas gift tags in this post. Ko Creative Watercolor Class-1


1 large egg white

1lb dry roasted salted almonds

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons chai tea mix

(Trader Joe’s Chai Tea Latte Mix is my favorite, but you could combine other fall spices to get a similar flavor)

In a gallon size ziplock bag shake up the egg white and 1 teaspoon of water until it’s nice and frothy. Pour the almonds in the bag and shake till everything is coated in the egg white mixture. In a separate bowl mix the rest of the ingredients and then pour the sugar mixture into the bag and shake again. Pour the coated almonds on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour at 250 degrees. Every 15 minutes use a spatula and flip the almonds around, shaking the pan a bit so that each almond gets evenly roasted. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.

*This recipe will make ten 1/3 cup gifts / party favors.
